The town hall provides a busy programme of sports, social and community events and activities and there are free Spanish classes for those who want to brush up on the language.

Of course, to really get a flavour of Dolores, head to one of the local restaurants, where vegetables grown in the surrounding Segura Huerta find their way into delicious hearty stews, meat and seafood dishes. Friday morning is open air market day when you can snap up produce for your own cooking, not to mention huge fresh fruits such as apricots, oranges, melons and watermelons plus delicious homemade pastries.

The town has a medical centre, several pharmacies, a dentist, orthodontist and veterinarian. The University General Hospital in Elche is just over 15 minutes away.

From the 31st of August to the 7th of October a series of events and festivities will take place in the village of Dolores that will make its neighbours and visitors spend a few days of brotherhood and enjoyment in the name of the Patron Saint of the municipality, Our Lady of Dolores. During these festivities, all kinds of activities will take place, such as cultural events, traditional events that we celebrate every year, musical shows, meals, large parties, highlighting this year the Chupinazo and IX Retreta de Peñas Festeras, the Parade of floats and of course, the Solemn Procession with the image of the Virgen de los Dolores. In conclusion, more than a month of acts and events designed for the enjoyment of the people of Dolores and all those who visit the town.
